ALMOND GLAZED GREEN BEANS – Green beans covered in a sweet tangy sauce and topped with toasted almonds. It’s quick, easy and the perfect side dish for dressing up any meal.
Green beans are one of my favorite vegetables to serve up as a side dish. They’re inexpensive, easy to get a hold of, cook fairly quickly and they’re so good for you.
Almond Glazed Green Beans are a quick and delicious way dress up any meal. The sauce is tasty without overpowering the green beans, and the almonds add a nice flavor and crunch to the dish. They also keep well in the refrigerator for a few days, just in case they don’t all get gobbled up right away.
My general method for toasting almonds is to heat a sauce pan to medium heat, add the almonds and heat until they start to brown and become fragrant, stirring periodically.
The almonds tend to settle at the bottom of the stockpot after adding them to the cooked green beans. When serving up, I use tongs to grab all the green beans out and place them on a serving dish. Then I’ll spoon out the almonds and remaining sauce, and scoop it on top of the green beans.
