GERMAN CHOCOLATE COOKIES – Double chocolate chip cookies topped with a coconut pecan frosting and a chocolate drizzle. These rich and decadent cookies are a chocolate lovers dream.
My husband LOVES German chocolate cake. So, when I came across a cookie version of his beloved cake, I just knew I needed to try it out. These cookies did not disappoint!
German Chocolate Cookies are every bit as sweet and moist as you would expect from the original cake. The biggest difference would be that the cookies are faster and easier to make, in my opinion.
When making the frosting, it is very important to whisk the egg yolk in completely before heating it, otherwise you might end up with scrambled eggs mixed in with the evaporated milk and sugar. No, thank you.
I like these cookies on the large side. However, they are very rich. If you want to make smaller cookies, I recommend using a 1 tablespoon sized cookie scoop and baking for 10 minutes.
Store German Chocolate Cookies in an airtight container for 3-4 days.

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- To make the cookies: in a medium-sized bowl add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk to combine.
