FRESH BASIL LEMONADE – Freshly squeezed lemon juice and fresh basil leaves are blended together for this smooth, refreshing drink.
Here’s what you need
- Water and ice cubes
- Lemons
- Sugar
- Basil leaves

Let’s get started
Add the water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, basil leaves, and ice cubes into a blender. Close the lid nice and tight, and start blending on the lowest speed. Slowly increase the speed to the highest speed, and continue to blend for 45 seconds.
This is a good time to give the lemonade a taste test. Add more lemon juice, water, or sugar, depending on your preferences. If you do add anything, blend again for a few extra seconds.

Fill 4 glasses with ice, and portion out the lemonade into each glass. Garnish the glasses with sliced lemons and basil leaves.
Fresh Basil Lemonade can be served right away. But if you have the time, go ahead and chill it for 30 minutes to an hour before portioning it out and serving.

Tips & Tricks
Get yourself a good juicer: Juicing lemons and limes by hand can be difficult. If you don’t already have one, get yourself a good juicer. My favorite hand juicer is the hinged squeezer type.
Storing fresh basil leaves: The best way to store fresh basil leaves is to trim the ends of the stems, then arrange them in a glass of water, and loosely cover them with a plastic bag. Store the basil at room temperature away from direct sunlight.
